Michelle, known as Shelby.

Started of dancing on my dad’s feet at their studio when I was a tiny little girl, became an Australian ballroom dancing champion by time I was 10 years old.

From there I always had a love of fitness and was entered into the Hindmarsh stadium hall of fame, as a defender for the under 14’s Aldinga beach soccer club women’s team. Becoming the inaugural under 14 cup winners.

I experimented with calisthenics, tennis and running, but eventually found my passion in group fitness.

I started off under the wing of Linda Domas as a trainee body combat instructor. After becoming certified, I then also took up pole fitness. I then headed for teaching stretch and relaxation classes and body pump. I am currently teaching all of these classes on a weekly basis and could not love my job and passion for the people that I meet any more than I do. This has by far been the best journey of my life.

I began pole dancing 2 years ago for fitness and a bit of fun. I became instantly addicted after my very first lesson. It was love at first spin! I love all aspects of pole dancing, including the grace, strength, flexibility and the confidence gained along the way. I love pushing myself to my limits week by week and seeing what new and challenging moves I can try.

I’ve become passionate about sharing my love for pole with my students at Core Principles SA. There’s nothing quite like watching a student nail their nemesis trick and through it gaining confidence, motivation, a sense of achievement or even happiness.

Hi my name is Amanda and i am proud to say I am one of the instructors at Core Principles.

I have played competitive netball at state level since i was a teenager, I am now retired and my focus has switched to group fitness. I completed my Cert 3 in fitness at the beginning of this year and I am absolutely embracing the opportunity to learn and develop my knowledge, being trained by some of the best in the game at Core.

I love pushing myself to my limits, challenging myself and embracing new challenges, being outside of my comfort zone is exciting for me and I love it. This is also what i love to see from Core members in my class. I love seeing the satisfaction on their faces when they can achieve more in their workouts than they could the week before. Seeing members succeed and being proud of themselves at the end of a tough workout is what drives me. Watching them really challenge themselves with a never say die attitude also inspires me to push harder.

One last thought and one i live by- Follow your dreams and never underestimate yourself, anything is possible if you want it bad enough you will find a way.

Joy began pole dancing in 2012 and has been coaching for the last two years. Prior to that she was a belly dancer, which provided a good segue into pole dancing. She loves the mental and physical challenge of pole and finds it to be one of the most empowering and rewarding activities she has ever tried.

As a coach she is very patient, encouraging and supportive, which comes from her six years of coaching children’s sport. She is also extremely determined and if there’s one thing you can be sure of, Joy will never give up on you! There’s nothing she loves more than seeing students nail new moves and achieve their goals.

Her biggest achievement has been competing over 3 years in the INBA Natural Body Building where she placed second in the State. This required a lot of commitment dedication and sacrifice but was extremely rewarding.

Of late she is a proud Team member of Core Principle teaching Flight/Pilates/Pop Pilates and Boxing.
She is a firm believer in ongoing education related to the fitness industry and is extremely motivated and passionate about fitness and delivering this information to our beautiful members at Core Principle.
She believes in the philosophy That All Limitations are Self Imposed.

My love of exercise goes hand in hand with my love of science, human biology in particular. I’m just a closet geek really and love nothing more than to study for fun! Interests I have include psychology and neuroscience.

The complexity of the human body and mind astound me, as does what we are capable of doing when we apply mind to matter and believe in ourselves. The most satisfaction for me, working in the fitness industry, is to see people brought to life as they discover their passion for movement, to watch them succeed, amazing themselves at their own capabilities.

I also have a creative side and love interior design and when I have time I like to sketch, and particularly enjoy drawing the human body. No surprises there. The creative part of me gets heaps of satisfaction from my work at the studio as each week I get the freedom to plan and deliver such a variety of classes.

I moved to Australia with my family 4 years ago and couldn’t be happier. I think a big upheaval (such as moving to the other side of the world) builds resilience and the knowledge that you can create anything, anywhere. I believe that it’s never too late and you’re never too old to do something different, reinvent yourself, be who you want to be and achieve what you want to achieve!

When I’m reading for pleasure I love nothing better than crime novels and I think another job I would have loved is forensic scientist! My absolute favourite TV series to date has to be Dexter.
I love a laugh and like to think I don’t take myself too seriously as some of you may attest to if you witnessed my C3PO costume in the Star Wars mash up!! Working at Core Principles studio is such as pleasure. I couldn’t ask for better colleagues or clients so thank you all!
